How to cancel Hulu (2026): on the web, in the app, and through a bundle
Where you cancel Hulu depends on one thing: who bills you. Hulu itself, a Disney Bundle, or a partner like Apple or Roku each has a different cancel button. Check the biller first and the rest takes two minutes.
First, check who bills you
Log in to your Account page on Hulu.com and look at the Payment Information section. It names your billing party. Hulu's own list of possible billers runs longer than most people expect: Hulu itself, or Amazon, Apple, Comcast Xfinity, Disney, Google, Kroger, HBO Max, Optimum, Roku, Spotify, T-Mobile, or Verizon. If it says Hulu, use the web steps next. If it names anyone else, skip ahead to the partner and bundle sections, because cancelling in the wrong place does nothing.
Cancel Hulu on the web
For anyone Hulu bills directly, these are the steps from Hulu's help center:
- Go to your Account page on Hulu.com in a computer or mobile browser and log in.
- Select Cancel under Your Subscription.
- If Hulu offers to pause your subscription instead, select Continue to Cancel.
- Select Cancel Subscription and finish the remaining on-screen prompts.
What about the app?
You cannot cancel inside the Hulu app, on iPhone, Android, or a TV. There is no cancel button in it. Open a browser on your phone instead and use the web steps above; the mobile site has the full Account page. And if you originally subscribed through Apple or Google Play, the browser steps will not reach your billing either. Cancel in your Apple ID subscriptions or your Google Play subscriptions, as covered below.
Cancel Hulu through a bundle
A bundle is one subscription with one biller, and cancelling it ends every service inside it at the same time. Where you cancel depends on who sold you the bundle:
- Bundle billed through Hulu: cancel on your Hulu Account page using the web steps above. That ends your Hulu, Disney+, and ESPN+ access together at the end of the billing cycle.
- Bundle billed through Disney+ (you signed up on Disney+): manage and cancel it from your Disney+ account instead, in the Subscription section of your Disney+ Account page.
- Disney+, Hulu, and Max bundle bought through Max: cancel through Max or Max support.
- Had a service before the bundle? An older standalone Hulu, Disney+, or ESPN+ subscription you had before joining a bundle is a separate subscription with its own billing. It keeps running, and keeps charging, unless you cancel it separately too. This is the bundle trap that catches the most people.
Billed through another partner
If your Payment Information names a partner, cancel with that company: Apple in Settings under your name and Subscriptions, Google in Play Store payments and subscriptions, Amazon under Memberships and Subscriptions, and carriers such as Verizon or T-Mobile through the carrier. One exception worth knowing: if Roku bills you, Hulu says to cancel on Hulu.com, not in Roku's subscription manager, because Hulu manages the subscription itself.
Pause instead of cancelling
If you only want a break, Hulu billed subscribers can pause for up to 12 weeks instead of cancelling. You will see the offer during the cancel flow, or you can choose Pause next to Pause Your Subscription in the Your Subscription section of your Account page. The pause starts on the first day of your next billing cycle, you are not charged while it runs, and billing resumes on its own when the pause ends. Pausing is not available on annual plans, gift cards, promotions, or accounts on hold, and most third party billed accounts cannot pause either, with Amazon and Roku billed accounts the exceptions. If you cancel while paused, you will not be charged.
Before you cancel: two things to check
- You may not need to cancel at all. From the same Your Subscription section you can change to a cheaper plan or remove add-ons such as Max or Paramount+ without ending your subscription. Add-ons also stop at the end of the billing cycle when you do cancel, so nothing extra is owed.
- Cancelling is not deleting. Cancelling ends the subscription only. Your Hulu account and the Disney account you use for other Disney services stay in place. Deleting your account, on the other hand, does not cancel anything, and deleting first can leave a subscription you can no longer manage. Always cancel first.
What happens after you cancel
- You keep watching until the end of your current billing cycle, and you will not be charged again. There are no cancellation fees.
- One exception: if you are on a Hulu + Live TV free trial, the trial ends immediately when you cancel, not at the end of the trial period.
- Your account, profiles, and watch history are not wiped by cancelling. If you come back later, you resubscribe on the same account.
How to confirm the cancellation worked
Two signals. Your Account page will read Your subscription will be canceled, and Hulu sends a confirmation email to the address on file. Keep that email. If your Account page still shows a future charge, the cancellation did not finish, so run the steps again until the status changes.
